The threaded boss on top of the crankcase breather is for mounting the
cross-over block. The cross-over block allows 1 petcock (either one) tofeed
both carbs. I think this style breather was unique to early machinesfitted
with the V700 tanks, which have their fuel petcocks mounted well forwardon
the tanks compared to the petcock location on the fat Ambo/Eldo tanks.
