Anybody have opinions on putting a solo seat on a civilian model Eldo?

Tim,
I got a HD police solo saddle(springer w/out the springs) for $15 at a
swap meet. Seeing how I'm a tall 5' 14'', I had a freind weld me up a
bracket that moved the seat up and back from the normal location of the
Guzzi solo seat. I LOVE it!! It don't look real purty, but my keester
loves it and so do my knees.

You can also get a Kawazakee Police special seat by just going down to a
dealer and ordering one. That is one nice seat.

Mark at Moto Guzzi Classics has some nice seats, also. They have a
fiberglass pan and vynel uphulstery(SP)material. I prefer leather as it
breaths.

I have an original police solo, and it's o.k. I made a custom sheepskin
seat cover for it, and it looks good. It is wonderful for when the bike
sets in this 110* sunshine. Everybody says these seats will conture to
your butt as you ride, but mine seems to never do this. My can hurts
after about 60 or so miles and I have to stretch my left leg as I get a
pain in the hip from the low riding position the solo puts me at. I even
have hiway pegs, but I still have to get off and rub my butt, or take
along a small throw pillow to set on when the pain sets in.

I also was turned on to an original springer solo saddle by a freind of
mine. I sat on the Carabinieri Polizia Guzzi at the AZ rally and found
out why it was taken off. The small springs kind make the seat feel like
Jello when leaning into a turn. Also, it is kinda small.(or my a** is
kinda big) I may turn this seat onto Greg Field as he is looking for
one.

I have just restored a stock Guzzi banana seat, but have not yet tried
it out, as my new little freind Jan has her own Guzzi to ride. :^)
