I bought a set of new crash bars that were from Germany and within 4 months
they were rusting up. I had a good coat of polish on them, but with the
humidity here in Florida it is hard to fight rust. The plating on them
must have been Chrome Flashing instead of true Chrome Plating for them to
rust up that fast. The EPA has really cracked down on platers within the
past few years. They use some nasty chemicals. Allot of car club guy here
in the area send their stuff to Canada to get chromed. I guess they can
still get away using the good stuff up there.
