thanks John.
Did you remove the reserve tube too?
you have to remove the screens in order to use the adaptor to fit the
loopframe tank.

It seems to me that the metal/metal thread would be prone to leaking.
Also with all the threads tight, the petcocks don't face the right way...but
that can be worked around.

<P>I replaced my old leaky petcocks with the newer ones from Moto International in 99 and I did not need any gaskets but the only thing I had to sacrifice was the screens that the origionals had. They do not leak anymore with the new petcocks and I have not noticed any sediment passing through the petcocks without the screens. I called M.I. to see if any screens were avaliable for these and they said no, but things may have changed since then.</P>
