I loved my previous owner.....other than trying to run the bike with the
carbs full of rust and letting all the chrome rust he pretty much left the
thing along. This allowed me to basically start with a totally original
Loop. I prefer this to trying to work on something that has been "modified"

Regards...Ian

I found the source of all my electrical problems. Unfortunately it
affected almost all aspects of the charging system. The previous owner
only attached the battery with one J bolt, which allowed it to move and
come in contact with the hold down bracket. It appears that the
regulator
worked as a very large fuse but only after the generator had its
windings
melted. Hopefully the parts will be acquired or repaired before next
weekend's North California breakfast.
