Sigma BC800 is the one that seems to be universally used. 3.4" seemed a lot
until you mentioned the spoke.

you could probably get a closer fit using a flat magnet on the edge of the
rim with the pickup up high on the fender stay.

 Chris,
I no longer use my Sigma, but at one time I had it mounted to my Eldo
successfully. I had the pick-up mounted to a short length of stainless
steel 3.4" square tubing, which was drilled and wire tied to the fender
tab
that mounts to the fork leg. I put the standard Sigma magnet on one of
the
spokes and lined it up and it worked fine. There are more powerful earth
magnets sold by Radio Shack that I bought but never used, as I was able to
get the pick-up and stock magnet close enough that they worked. Routed
the
length of wire up the left fork (wire tied) to the LED display, which I
had
mounted on the handlebar, between the bar clamps.
