Ted,
Those heads are from a 700/early 750. The valves are smaller than the later heads with the smaller intake ports. They have the metal restricter tube to increase the incoming air/fuel velocity.
I think Mark may have more or a better description than this.

Hey Guys I have a old set of heads that came off a 700 or 750 with the metal inserts for intake side. When you have the inserts out the intake hole is too big for the newer square sided carbs. Are these heads as good as the others. Looks like the dual springs will not fit . They have good exhaust threads! Any problems with the single spring valves. Thanks Ted
