Chris,

Got mine for $250, new, at Auto Electric International in Southfield,
Michigan. Their number is 248 354 2082, ask for Oren. Tell him you
want a Valeo starter, part number D6RA21, for a Mot Guzzi. Check the
links for my progress photos to see one installed. When going on a Loop
they require some minor mounting modification unless you want to
(sacrilege) drill out the blind hole for the upper mounting stud. I can
provide close-up photos if anybody is interested.

Also, I have been told and read that the Valeo starter used on the later

model bikes is an absolutely great replacement...just be ready to shell
out
400 clams or so for it. Mark or Cheese should be able to get one of
these
too.
