One of the htings I love about guzzis, especially the old loops is that
you get what you get. Even from the factory, damn near no two bikes were
the same. And then once the PO(s) got through with it...

Love the old beasts. Ride 'em, wrench 'em...but please don't put 'em in
amber.

Thanks guys, it's good to know I got a decent deal. When I stopped to
look at the bike the guy wanted $1000 for it. I had no idea what it was
worth, and really couldn't spend more than $400 for what was really an
impulse buy. I really didn't think he'd accept less than half his asking
price, but he did.

I'm trying to determine if my bike is a '70 or a '71. It is titled as a
'71 but the reference material I have found so far says a '71 should
have a speedo/tach and a heal/toe shifter. My bike has only a
speedometer and does not have a heel/toe shifter. The build date on the
frame is July 1970. Is it a '71 or actually a '70 titled as a '71?

Thanks,
Mark Wolf
