I just thought I would tell everyone about my Guzzi. My mother originally bought the motorcycle for my father about 15 years ago from his uncle for $800. My great uncle originally purchased the bike brand new in 1971 in Monett, MO at Homelite Duccati shop. He drove it twice from MO to Canada and then sparingly after that. When my father got the bike I was 14 years old and I bought a 250 Honda rebel. We use to cruise the back roads of southwest Missouri. When I was 17 my father had a heart attack and could no longer drive the bike. I worked out a deal with him to get the bike - (traded my brother a '62 impala in rough driving shape). When I got the bike it was in good shape but I went ahead and completely disassembled and cleaned every part on it, I also removed the wixom fairing and bags from it. It was a great bike and I drove it nearly every day to for the next five years while I was in school until it finally broke down and I did not have the money or knowledge to fix it. It was in pretty rough shape because I never had a garage to keep it in. It ended up behind my parents garage to deteriorate away. I had always wanted to fix it back up and this spring I just bit the bullet and took it to someone that could do the work. My father had become terminally ill and I knew at that point I could not let the bike deteriorate any further and that I would keep it forever, because needless to say it suddenly meant a lot more to me. He died this spring about a month before the bike was complete but he knew that I was having the bike fixed and he was very happy and excited for me.

It is not exactly original but it is close enough for me because I am going to enjoy driving it. But occasionally I am sure that I will posting some simple questions trying to get all of the bugs worked out.
