Hi Ted:

I had a problem last year that had me going in circles for awhile. All of a sudden my V700 started running terribly with no power. After looking at the carbs, timing advance, coil, valves, etc. I pulled the distributer apart. The advance springs were mangled. Not sure why or how the bike ran as well as it did b4 the problem started. I cleaned the distibuter and replaced the spings and all was well.

Hi all. I am still troubleshooting my eldo, but haven't done anything in a while due to lack of time, but I just realized what is happening. Before I was thinking it was timing related, but I messed with it again today and here it is:
When I first start it and the bike is cool it runs great. After 3 or 4 minutes once the bike reaches operating temperature it begins to sputter and miss. This mostly happens on acceleration, but the bike will idle fine. If I kill it and let it sit for 5 minutes, it will run smoothly again for a short time until it heats back up, then the ame thing. This happens whether the enrichener is applied or not (if it is on and the bike is warm, it just makes things worse).
I have adjusted the valves several times in accordance with the chiltons manual and have seen no change.
Any new suggestions?

Ted Ward
