Now if you are going to tell me the Metzlers would of gripped in the
antifreeze..........
JB

Hell, I bought a Metzeler for the back of the Centauro, for about $135, and it was the slipperiest tire I'd ever ridden on. Apparently, I was ripped off and sold an old one that had gotten hard!

I agree with Tim all the way. The Cheng Shin # I think is C180 and the
4.00X18 should be closer to $36. I've put over 150k on them in the last
3 1/2 years on Guzzis and they work well in dirt and ok in snow.
The only traction issue I had was on the T-3 four weeks ago when I slid
out making a left turn in some antifreeze that was on the road. Broke my
collarbone good!

 Hey Jim,
At the risk of getting flamed.....I run the Cheng Shin replica of the
Dunlop
K70. It was popular in the 70's when I first started riding Guzzi's and
comes in the 4.00X18 size. JC Whitney sells them for around $45 apiece.
They
are 6-ply and very tough. I ride my Ambo everywhere, and have never had
a
problem. I live in Las Vegas, and they hold up to the desert heat very
well.
I always liked them because they work well in the dirt, like in graded
roads. Actually, they were used for flat track racing in the 70's.
Besides
all that, I like the period look.

I'm getting my old '67 V7 going again and now it's time to look into
tires... It's got 4.00x18's on it and I'm sure the technology and the
players in the marketplace have change in the 15 years since I last
bought
Motorcycle tires... Any suggestions as to make/model/size to get? Also

are
there any good online places to get them?

Thanks... Jim
