In the last 25 years I have seen quite a few seat pans perforated from
acid exposure. The vented batteries don't cost any more than the
unvented. Better safe than corroded .

I have a 1993 Cal III that came with a corrode-a-matic battery. I
caught it in time but there was corrosion at some electrical connections
for the FI computer that were causing problems.
