The rear wheel always made horrid noises when I rolled it around the garage. I expected to see a very damaged crown wheel. Instead, I found no crown wheel or crown wheel carrier at all. I think the bearings had fallen out of the wheel in the rear drive and that was what was causing all the noise. The teeth on the pinion gear are badly damaged.

The rear drive internals are completely trashed and the drive shaft and coupler were missing. But the ujoint looks and feels new!
