I installed both petcocks and turned them to the off position. That sealed those two holes. For the gas cap hole, I used electrical tape to secure and seal a small plastic adapter for a low pressure/high volume air pump we have for inflating all of the pool toys, etc. I attached the hose for the pump and had my daughter, Darby, hold the pump such that everything would stay in place.

With the pump running, I used a brush to coat the entire exterior surface with a thick mixture of soap and water (heavy on the soap). I found one leak up front, just ahead of the filler neck. Not the best news, but it is much better to deal with it now rather than later.
