I cleaned and degreased many parts first thing in the morning before I went for a ride on my dirt bike. Later Sunday evening, I took the time to disassemble the rear drive, brake plates, and forks. I placed the steel parts in my degreaser tank for soaking. I never soak aluminum parts in degreaser for very long at all (generally no more than an hour and certainly not overnight or for days). I've found the degreaser reacts with the aluminum and creates a very ugly corrosion type chemical reaction. The degreaser can also change the color of the aluminum if soaked for too long.
